Here’s a list of Bike Clubs in the Sheffield area – it’s not exhaustive, if you’re in a club and it’s not listed here or the info needs to be updated please let us know and we’ll add it. Also if you have a logo for your club, send us a copy and we’ll add that.

Cake Rides: Saturday morning, 9 a.m.at the bottom of bents road. Steady cake is men and women everyone welcome, great fun …when u get fitter you can then go on the Tea cake a mix of all clubs in the area can be brisk once the lads get into training mode.
Langsett – essentially a racing team, so only of interest to someone who is already well into cycling and good at it.
Rutland – long established and popular club that cater for most cycle tastes, though with an emphasis on racing.
Sheffield Phoenix – don’t know much about them, though they do promote the odd time trial.
Sharrow CC – claim to be the oldest established club in Sheffield (1887?). A recent (jan 2014) poster on Facebook said Sharrow cycling club meet every Wednesday at 10.00am generally about 40 miles to different location every week steady pace everyone welcome. They were spotted at Owler Bar on Sept 21 2014 so they’re obviously still out riding!
Sheffield CTC
– the local group of the national CTC and started just over 100 years ago. Rides on Sundays and on Wednesday evenings during the summer are of a variety of distances and are non-competitive.
- founded in 1989, originally (as its name suggests) with a grant from and members of Sheffield Council Recreation Department. It is now wholly separate, with around 100 members, and covers all aspects of cycling, the main emphasis on road and enjoyment.
Norton Wheelers – focus on cyclo-cross, but have branched into other aspects of cycling.
Stocksbridge – relative newcomer, with sponsorship from Claremont Hospital and Irwin Mitchell. Racing focus, but participate in sportives and Audax. No contact details at present.
Whirlow Wheelers – their contact details say it all – http://www.cyclingweakly.org. uk/. Mainly cyclists of a certain age, with a focus on social riding.
La Squadra – another new kid on the block, based around Nonna’s restaurant on Ecclesall Road. Racing/time trial/sportive focus and as might be expected a particular interest in biking things Italian.
Sheffield Sports – Don’t know much about them I’m afraid.
Kiveton Park – Of interest to those who live out to east of Sheffield. Organise races and time trials, not sure about other aspects.
Sheffield & The Peaks Biking Belles – a women-only group with an emphasis on social lriding and mutual support, though a few who race for other clubs are members.
