I think you have really improved cycling through the city centre but wondered if you had any plans for Crookes area. I cycle up Crookes Road & find the junction with Lydgate Lane is really hairy! Several times I have experienced motorists cutting across my front wheel in their eagerness to get up Lydgate. Recently this resulted in being hit by a motorist who then failed to stop. I was unhurt but feel understandably cautious in this area now. There are no cameras on this junction & the road is quite narrow with no safe cycle lane and a busy area for buses! Any improvement would be much appreciated as all cyclists going up through would feel the benefit. Many thanks for the opportunity to mention this.
A very good point, and a junction that I have considered dangerous for years. A friend of mine was knocked off here 20 years ago by a motorist who simply thought she had right of way to go straight up Lydgate Lane, rather than signal and wait. I guess its not helped when the road markings are faded either. Ill add this to the campaigns list. Ian
